Bowl of Life
When learning to incorporate more plant food into your diet, it can help to have a basic foundational formula or recipe for a meal and build from there. One of my favorite meals is this bowl, called by many names. It's made mixing a protein (beans, tofu, tempeh, etc), veggie, and grain (quinoa, rice, couscous, etc). You can then add whatever spices and sauces you like, so the possibilities are endless. It's a great way to incorporate what you already have in your refrigerator and pantry. Today I mixed black rice with roasted potatoes, nori, spinach, kale, sunflower seeds, avocado, purple cabbage, mushrooms, and broccoli. I then dressed it with siracha, apple cider vinegar, a touch of tamari, and nutritional yeast. It's energizing, colorful, and vibrant!
